I hit 49 and found myself overweight and out of shape and then, I met Joey. I have trained with Joey for more than a year now. When I first met Joey, I was extremely unfit, low muscle tone and a high resting heart rate. Initially, I was able to only lift 5 lb. dumbbells and I could not complete a full cardio workout. I am pleased to say that I am now able to lift 25 lb, dumbbells, and my heart rate is within the normal range and I have run several 5K’s. Joey’s training style is supportive, kind and yet his expectations are high. With each fitness challenge, my inclination is to say, “I can’t do that” and Joey affirms that I can indeed do “that” skill and he’s almost always right. Through Joey’s knowledgeable training, I have gained not only strength and fitness but a greater degree of confidence in my athletic abilities. Because of this new found confidence and strength, I am looking forward to training for a 10K or sprint triathlon this spring.
